What is an Import Export Code (IEC)?
An Import Export Code (IEC) is a 10-digit unique identification code issued by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), Government of India. It is mandatory for businesses or individuals engaging in the import or export of goods and services from/to India.

Documents Required for IEC Registration

- PAN Card of the applicant.

For Companies/LLPs:
- PAN Card of the entity.
- Certificate of Incorporation or Partnership Deed.
- Bank account details (cancelled cheque or bank certificate).
- Address proof of the business premises.
- Digital Signature Certificate (DSC) of the authorized signatory.
Steps to Obtain an IEC Code
- Visit the DGFT Portal:
- Go to DGFT Website.
- Register on the Portal:
- Create a login ID using your PAN number.
- Complete the IEC Application Form:
- Fill out the online form (ANF-2A) with personal and business details.
- Upload Documents:
- Attach all necessary documents in the prescribed format.
- Payment of Fees:
- Pay the IEC application fee (currently ₹500).
- Submit the Application:
- Submit the completed application.
- Receive IEC:
- Upon successful verification, the IEC is issued electronically.
